Google your name to see your results. Most people when starting out will average between 100-1500. This means the Internet can find your name or others with your exact name that specific number of times.

The more articles you submit to ezines, websites, guest blogs, social media site back links and all other Internet high ranked websites, the better results you will have.

In January 2005 I had 30,000 results without knowing how to make an impact. I had about 20 websites by then and was on Linked In, Spoke, Ryze and a few other smaller sites.

I was attending a class for Internet Marketing by Internet guru, Tom Antion. He took one of the originators of Internet Marketing, Cory Rudel’s programs and put them on steroids. His results were 90,000.

A year and three months later I was taking the Speaker Match course by Brian Capovich in Chicago and they Googled Tom’s name and everyone oohed and aahed over Tom’s 90,000 results. From the back of the room I asked them to Google my name and the results were 92,000. It surprised even me. Obviously my street credibility went up on the spot.

In 2009 during my calls to radio stations I was talking with Sybil in Boston about her possibly interview me on her show. I heard her typing i the background and then her response, “holy s…!” I asked her what was wrong and she said “I just Googled your name and there’s over 200,000 results!”

I landed the interview for the next Friday and was given a higher level of respect, which included the program manager offering me a full time weekly show on their station.

The more your name is out there, the more credibility you have. Here are some of the methods I’ve used:

YouTube

Post a short 3-5 minute video of you reading from your book add keywords to the video description and post a notice with a brief description on each of the groups and forums you participate with the YouTube link and your website/blog link. That will give you a large number of viewers and more visitors to your website/blog.

Craig’s List

Another great way to raise the rating of your website is by putting free articles on Craig’s List. Every once in awhile they reject my articles, but it’s a simple process to submit the articles and it’s a great back link because of their high ranking

Amazon

Create a profile on Amazon. By now you should have your profile saved in a Word doc so you can copy and paste it on the various websites.
Another way to get major recognition in the author community is to go to Amazon and review no less than 10 books a week. This takes about an hour and can be one of those tasks your VA can do for you.

Good Reads

Good Reads is another website for you to create a profile and register your book. This is another site you will want to write reviews of other’s books.

Forums

Google Forums which are related to your book’s concepts will also raise your rankings. You’ll have to sign up on the forum, but after you have, you can reply to posts related to your book’s topics and include a link to your book’s website/blog. Try to add one forum each week and reply to at least one post every day.

LinkedIn

There are thousands of groups on LinkedIn and several topic in which you can find people who are interested in your topics.

FreeebookDirectory

Write articles to promote your book and make sure you have a capture box on the link use use included in the article, which can be an ebook when you write it as a “how to” article.

Be sure to opt out of the daily updates and the notification of new posts. You don’t want to flood your email Inbox.

Please check back to this and other pages to see updates with new information I will post periodically.

I was listening to a teleseminar a few months ago and a young many who had won the Transformation contest in Florida was earning about $2,000 a month through coaching and teleseminars. Obviously it wasn’t enough to support a decent lifestyle.

He attended a Continuity Program Conference and immediately put into place what he learned at the program.
Just like the interviews that we talked about in the Expert Interview Series Program, he approached experts in his field of physical transformation, body building, weight lifting, diet and exercise.
Because his audience was targeted specifically to those who wanted to build more muscle, he focused only on those who would enhance his program.

He offered an initial sign up special of $79/month with an offer of a personal coaching session with him after 6 months of participation which he valued at $995. He had an amazing $60,000 income his first program. Again, this is because of his target audience and the large database of those he interviewed.
He offered an up-sell for an additional $2,000 for the year, which included additional monthly coaching through an audience participation monthly call. His ratio was better than 50% who signed up for the up-sell.
He had large binders pre-printed with his logo and before and after pictures and filled the binder with 12 CD insert pages and worksheets for the entire year’s program.

He found that most people wouldn’t opt out of the program because they wanted to fill up the binder.
If you’re anything like me, I had to do the math:

$60,000 / $80 = 750 Purchased the Continuity Program
750 x 50% = 375 x $2,000 = $750,000 Additional Coaching

He went from $24,000/yr to over $800,000 with his first Continuity Program.
His numbers are exceptional but even if you did 10% of what he was able to do and it took you 10 hours a month to generate the material and conduct the Teleseminar, that’s a great return for your time.
It’s one more option you can use to escalate your income as an author that very few people ever utilize.

The first time I was aware of this type of program was when I signed up for Steve Harrison’s Author’s Club for $79/month. It’s a great program and has proven invaluable. Again, his audience is very targeted.

Once you have built your database to 5,000 names, you will want to begin your Membership Site. Unless you are very comfortable with website development, hire this out. It is not worth the time it will take you to develop it. If you’re using a WordPress blog site, it will be easy for your contractor to set up.
During the months, with your auto responders, you’ve built the trust with your database as to having great information to share with them.

After 6 moths, you have not only generated a great start to your database, but you should have 20-24 interviews which you have edited and generated a product. These interviews are the basis for your membership site.

Most people will offer a $1 for an introductory offer and will have a range between $9.95 to $79 a month thereafter. It will depend on your audience and industry. You might offer the first 500 the $9.95 a month and then gradually increase the rate with new sign ups until you realize your opt in rate drops below your average.

Typically in most industries, 10% of your database will opt in for your membership program.

5,000 x 10% = 500 X $9.95/mo = $4,975/mo =

$59,720/yr

Now you can see why your database is so important.

Here’s a wonderful free program to help you learn more about how your Membership site will work.

Joint Venture relations are between you as an author, other authors and experts in your field of expertise. I have been making an average of $30,000 a year through various Social Media sites like Facebook. When I meet someone through Social Media, I look to see where the common denominator might be.

Then I build the relationship and determine how we might both benefit from working together. Other websites I use to find JV’s include:

SelfGrowth.com

Amazon.com

LinkedIn.com

MySpace.com

In March of 2009, JD from Facebook approached me and after talking for several weeks he asked for more details about my Face Reading techniques. He and his partner Jerry had coaching clients and they thought it would be a great program to introduce to their database. We set up the teleseminar, which was more like a radio interview.

Through the program and with some after market products I was able to generate about $4,000 from the initial 1 hour call. This is one of the greatest methods of getting your name out to multiple databases rapidly. JD and Jerry had already built the trust factor into their relationships with their database, so when they presented me as an expert, the trust factor was passed on to me.

Another example was Bill Ellingsworth from North Dakota who I also met on Facebook. He had sold his business and was investigating various projects to see what he might do next. After talking for a couple of months, he decided he wanted to do a series based on the singles market. We each approached about 20 singles authors, talk show hosts, columnists and even a TV program host. We ended up with 21 interviews, one for each weekday in September which happens to be “Singles” month. We created a website with the product, a membership site and I created a 21 CD package apackage to compliment my second book, Making a List and Checking It Twice – What Singles Need to Know.

Each person we interviewed sent out a webpage we had created announcing the details of their interview and when their database signed up for the $9.95 program, their details were added to our database. Joint Ventures can be:

Radio Interviews

Teleseminars

Webinars
